The walk starts at La Friche du Vallon, 15 minutes after Toxicorama.
In operation from 1958 to 2005, the Vallon incineration plant was responsible for record levels of dioxin contamination in the soil. Despite numerous warnings from members of the public and scientists, this pollution was not discovered until 2021.
Following on from the sound installation Toxicorama, presented at the Festival de la Cité, explore the Vallon neighbourhood on a Toxic Tour in the company of local residents and scientists.
By bringing together local memory, citizen-led investigations and historical research, this walk invites you to reflect on environmental inequalities of the past and present, and to collectively consider how to come to terms with this toxic legacy.
