The Transition Pieces

The Transition Pieces is a series of compositions between pop ballads and experimental music, spoken word, and instrumental music. Through these tracks, Gérald Arev Kurdian / Hot Bodies explore gender transition as a mirror of contemporary shifts. Their first Opus, Chant I (Déesses-fleuves, métavers et nymphes des hormones), is a multi-voiced electronic recital: their own voices join those of a choir of vocal clones, doubles of themselves at different ages. Combined with immersive soundscapes, these voices create a haunting polyphonic score.
