A sung theater piece in the form of a vibrational performance.
At 7 a.m. in the Cathedral, Juliette Kempf’s L’Enveillée creates an echo chamber where songs, silences, and simple gestures reinvent the ways we keep vigil over the dead. Against a backdrop of simple sheets, four voices rise, carried by the body and the memory of forgotten rituals. On the edge of the sacred, this theatrical poem explores our relationship with loss. From outcry to solace, it invites us to console, connect, transform, and also to tend to our own humanity.
