Originally from Hokkaido and now based in London, Hatis Noit explores the voice as a total instrument. Self-taught, she draws on a range of traditions—Japanese gagaku, Gregorian chant, Bulgarian polyphony, opera—to create a unique vocal language, wordless yet rich in emotion. In the Cathedral, her incantations oscillate between breath, prayer and abstraction. Alone on stage, she unfolds a dizzying soundscape where the voice becomes landscape, memory and vibration.
